Web Presence User Guide

Web PresenceYour Wordpress-driven web-presence site consists of static information pages and dynamic news posts.

News posts will arrange themselves chronologically within your news section, and then archive themselves according to parameters you can set in the dashboard. Use the news section to post information that is specific to time, and to create a log of your current and past projects and clients.

Pages contain static information that doesn’t change, for example who you are, what you do and your contact details.

The Dashboard is the back-end of your website. This is a section that only you can see, and you can use it to create and edit posts, pages and alter the functionality and appearance of your site.

First Things First: Enter the Dashboard

Before you can make any changes, first you need to login to your site. The control section of the site that allows you to change things is called the 'Dashboard'. To do this:

Add Media to Your Site

As discussed earlier, you can use the text editor to add pictures, and the upload browser to add images, videos and slideshows. Your site comes with 50 megabytes of storage as standard so you will need to think carefully about how you use this. In addition, we have created you a file storage account at http://www.mediamax.com where you can store an additional 25 gigabytes of media files and link them to your site.
