Environmental Policy...

We have achieved Phase 2 of the Standard BS8555, which has been externally assessed by Envolve Partnerships for Sustainability

We recognise that our activities (key aspects being travel, energy use, procurement of goods and waste generation) have a negative environmental impact and we aim to reduce this where appropriate.

We will achieve this by:

  • Minimising our consumption of resources, waste production, energy and water consumption and releases to the atmosphere where possible and as appropriate.
  • Ensuring that all relevant environmental legislation, regulations and all other requirements are met and where possible, exceeded.
  • Preventing pollution through compliance with legal requirements, using biodegradable/low environmental impact cleaning materials and providing an environment free of hazardous materials.
  • Continual improvement of our environmental performance through the regular review of our Environmental Management System (BS8555), enabling us to monitor our achievements and identify areas where further effort is needed.
  • Demonstrating good practice through our low impact, environmentally friendly office, and encouraging staff and visitors to travel there by environmentally friendly methods.
  • Promoting good practice and providing advice to our members and others.
  • Encouraging our suppliers to improve their own environmental performance, and making environmentally-guided decisions when selecting suppliers and procuring goods.
  • Providing appropriate induction and training (on this Policy and our Environmental Action Points), for all staff and freelancers. The policy will made available through our website.
