This is the solid with the lowest thermal resistance and it is expected to replace polyurethane as a refrigerator insulation material. Silica Aerogel can become a new material for high-temperature thermal insulation by adding titanium dioxide. The thermal conductivity of the material at 800K only is 0.03w/m*K. This will be further developed to become a new supporting product for military products.

After the sintering procedure, the organic aerogel gel becomes carbon aerogel. This porous carbon material has been developed as a replacement for fibrous carbon. The material has a large specific area (600-1000m2/g) as well as a high level of conductivity (10-25s/cm). Its density is also variable (0.05-1.0g/cm3). It would have excellent properties such as high storage capacity and low internal resistance. It is also lightweight and has strong charging and discharge ability.
