This results in increased activity. Ni3N/NiOH(2 catalyst is formed, which makes it more difficult for water to separate from nickel hydroxide. This reduces the overpotential. Additionally, metal nitrides have a higher adsorption rate to hydrogen than those of pure metals. This increases the metal nitrides' adsorption potential. As an electrocatalyst nickel nitride is an option for fuel cells, batteries, and other energy-related equipment.
