Product Performance of PEG Polyethyleneglycol
The hydroxyl group at the end of polyethylene is capable of being esterified, among other reactions. The polyoxyethyl can easily be associated with electron-receptors like polyacrylic acid or urea. This will cause automatic oxidation, so an anti-aging agent is required. It is water soluble but the solubility of it decreases when water reaches its boiling point. Also, it is soluble with acetonitrile (carbon tetrachloride), dichloroethane (thermal benzene) and other organic solvants. The molecular distribution of polymers with high molecular masses is extremely wide:Mw/Mn=1520 (Mw heavy molecular average weight,Mn average molecularweight). The polymer has a regular structure with spherulite and a crystallinity as high as 95%. Melting point is 6266. Can be extruded. Tensile strengths are close to those of medium density Polyethylene. When relative humidity falls below 70%, the water absorption rate is just below 5%. This almost has no impact on strength.

PEG Polyethylene glycol is used as a matrix in cosmetics, as a solvent, cosolvent, humectant and viscosity/melting point regulator. Textiles used as lubricants. Softeners, antistatics, wetting agents. Rubber industrial lubricant.
Paper industry: Used as a lubricant or finishing agent. It increases the smoothness and shine of the paper. Use in agriculture as a dispersant, wetting agent and emulsifier.
Casting agent for metalworking, lubricants used in metal stamping, forming and drawing, cutting fluids and grinding fluids. Dispersant used in coatings. Ink can be used as a dispersant, solvent and viscosity regulator. Pigment can be used to disperse, emulsify, and also in the synthesis of ester surfactant.
