Product Performance of Sorbitan monooleate
The process involves sorbitol as a raw material, followed by a closed-loop dehydration to produce sorbitol and finally an esterification reaction using oleic acids. An amber-colored viscous greasy substance with oleic taste and melted point of 10-12. Insoluble with water, but dispersed easily in hot water. Solvable in organic solvents. It is nonionic with a HLB of 4.3. This surfactant has emulsification ability, solubilization and diffusion capability, but it also has a defoaming effect.

Applications Sorbitan monooleate :

A viscous amber colored oily substance, with oleic taste, with a melting point of between 10-12. It is nonionic with an HLB of 4.3. This surfactant has emulsification ability, solubilization and diffusion capability, but it also has defoaming and stabilizing effects.
GB 13482 specifies that pan 80 food grade can be used in the food as an emulsifier. Refer to GB2760 for limitations. Industrial grade pan 80 : as a rust inhibitor and cosolvent in petroleum products; as a dispersant in the paint and coating industry. As an emulsifier and co-solvent for heavy mud used in deep oil wells.
