The lubricant molybdenum dilutride is good at working in vacuum at temperatures of up to 500°C with a coefficient friction lower than 0.1. But molybdenum dielenide is more friction-tolerant than molybdenum sulfide.
Molybdenum Ditelluride forms at the contact point. Small pieces of the molybdenum-ditelluride nanolayer can then be mixed in the molten-tin, without the need to react, increasing the composite's stiffness by two-thirds.
Molybdenum Ditelluride was examined by Atomic Force Microscopy for its ability to detect protein substrates. This is because it sticks to proteins better than conventional materials, such as mica.
