Product Performance of ETB 2-Tert-Butoxyethanole:
ETB causes mild skin irritation, and it has a low photochemical reaction. The main application in the coating industry is the emulsion-water dispersion coat. Due to the high HLB value, the function of the solvent in the dispersion systems plays the roles of dispersant and emulsifier. ETB improves the drying speed, adhesion strength, and brightness of water-dispersing paint. The tert-butyl molecule is a highly stable photochemical compound. The water-dispersing film made using this solvent has a high storage stability, in particular under conditions of low temperatures during winter. ETB, as a solvent in ink or as a diluteant in the printing ink can improve the rheology and gloss of ink.

Applications ETB 2-Tert-Butoxyethanol:

ETB can be added to amino and Nitrocellulose paints in order to reduce "orange peeling" and increase the gloss of paints by 2 - 6%. ETB, as a solvent made from ink or diluent, dispersant, used in the printing, can improve the rheology and gloss of the ink. ETB can be used to extract fibers. Alien Signal used ETB for the extraction of 76% polyethylene fibers with mineral oil. This reduced the mineral oils content by 0.15 %. Asahi Electric Company of Japan used it as a household cleaner. After treating the polyoxy-propane monobutyl ether with ETB and propylene oxide, they obtained a KOH reaction containing ETB.
